Clear, healthy skin representing what Aesthetic Treatment FAQs & What to Expect

To support proper healing and optimal results, please follow these guidelines after your treatment:

Post-Treatment Instructions (1-2 Weeks After)

● Immediately Post Treatment: Skin may feel hot, look pink, and lesions will darken. This is normal. Complete healing and resolution may take up to 4 weeks.

● Keep Moist: Apply a thin layer of ointment (Aquaphor or Vaseline) to the treated area 2-3 times daily to keep it moist and avoid scabbing for three days post treatment.

● Do Not Pick: Do not scratch, rub, or pick at the crusting/darkening lesions as this may result in the crusting falling off early and incomplete healing of the lesions that may result in hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation or scarring. They will naturally slough off within 7-14 days.

● Sun Protection: Strictly avoid direct sun for at least 2-4 weeks after. Use broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher to prevent post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). Preferred sunblock includes zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide.

● Cleaning: Use a gentle, mild cleanser and lukewarm water starting 24 hours after treatment. Take care to avoid rubbing or scrubbing of the lesions.

● Avoid Skin Irritants: Avoid alcohol-based toners, acids, vitamin C, retinols and retinoids for 3-5 days post treatment.

● Avoid Heat: Avoid hot showers, hot tubs, hot springs, saunas, and intense exercise for 3-5 days to achieve best results.

● Contact the office with questions or concerns post treatment.

Expected Outcomes

● Healing Time: Depending on the size/pigment of the initial lesion; crusting, darkening, scabbing appearance will usually last about 7-10 days on the face and up to 3 weeks on the body.

● Results: Dark spots should lift away, leaving clearer skin. There may possibly be a remnant of pigmentation remaining that may require a second or even third treatment. The lesions will never completely resolve and will require maintenance treatments over time to maintain desired results.

● Side Effects: Mild swelling or redness for 1-3 days is common. In some cases blistering, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), hypopigmentation and scarring may occur.
